Ingredients to Gather
You only need a few simple ingredients to make these delicious homemade waffles!
- Bisquick. I always have Bisquick in my pantry whether it is store bought Bisquick or homemade Bisquick. You can make Bisquick cinnamon rolls, Bisquick zucchini casserole, and even funnel cake with pancake mix! You can use whole wheat baking mix too.
- Milk. Whole milk, 2%, or even skim milk will work here.
- Eggs. To keep the delicious waffles from falling apart. The eggs add fat and structure to the waffles.
- Oil. Oil is one of the big differences between waffles and pancakes. The oil helps give the waffles that beautiful crust when it comes out of the waffle iron.
- Vanilla Extract. For some added flavor to the waffle batter.

There are a few reasons they might be dry. Make sure you do not overmix the batter. It's ok if there are a few lumps left in the batter. Also, make sure your Bisquick is not expired. If it is expired, it won't rise as well as it should and will be dense and dry.
