- Chicken Broth. This is the liquid that you need to cook the ingredients.
- Potatoes. Russet Potatoes that will hold up under the pressure of the Instant Pot.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
You can also freeze this sausage recipe! Place the cooled meal in a freezer friendly container and freeze it for up to 3 months. When you are ready to use it, place it in the refrigerator to defrost and then heat it up on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Yes! To make this in the slow cooker you will have to first brown the sausage for a couple of minutes on the stovetop. Then add it to the slow cooker with the rest of the ingredients. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
Ground sausage or ground beef might be too small for this recipe. You would want large chunks of sausage in this recipe.

Instant Pot Italian Sausage and Potatoes
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 lb Italian Sausages Cut in half
- 2 lb Potatoes 2 large potatoes, cut into chunks
- 1 Sweet Onion Sliced
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 can Tomato Sauce 8 ounces, 1 cup
- Salt and Pepper To Taste
Instructions
- Add the olive oil to the Instant Pot and set the Instant Pot to Saute. Add the sausages and brown for 4-5 minutes. While the sausage cooks, slice the onions and cut the potatoes into large chunks.
- Cancel the saute function and add the remaining ingredients.
- Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set the cooking time to 8 minutes on high pressure. Let the Instant Pot natural release for 10 minutes. Quick release the remaining pressure.
