Ingredients For Instant Pot Brussel Sprouts

- Brussel Sprouts. Fresh or frozen sprouts work in this recipe.
- Olive Oil. To quickly saute the sprouts.
- Garlic. For added flavor, because garlic makes everything better!
- Vegetable broth. Chicken broth or water can be used instead.
- Parmesan cheese. To toss the sprouts in once they are cooked.

How To Make Instant Pot Brussel Sprouts
Wash the Brussel sprouts and cut the stem off the Brussel sprouts, removing the outer leaves. If there are larger sprouts, cut them in half.
Press the Instant Pot saute function. Add the olive oil and minced garlic to the Instant Pot. Sauté for 1 minute.
Add the Brussel sprouts to the Instant Pot. Sauté for 3 minutes. Add the Brussel sprouts and the vegetable broth to the Instant Pot.
Cancel the saute function and close the Instant Pot lid. Make sure the knob on the lid is set to the sealing position. Set the Instant Pot cook time to 4 minutes on High pressure.



Once the cooking time is complete, quick release the pressure that is built up in the Instant Pot.
Remove the Brussel sprouts from the Instant Pot with a slotted spoon and place them in a serving bowl. Add the parmesan cheese and season with salt and black pepper. Toss to combine and serve immediately.
Tips and Tricks
- The Instant Pot will take 5-10 minutes to come up to pressure before it will begin cooking.
- To clean the Brussel sprouts, cut the bottom stem portion off and place the Brussel sprouts in a large bowl. Fill the bowl with water. Any dirt that is in the sprouts will fall to the bottom. Remove the Brussel sprouts from the water and dry them off.
- Be careful not to overcook the Brussel sprouts. They will easily get mushy and not be very palatable. As soon as the cooking process is over, quick release the pressure immediately.
- Depending on your grocery store, you might find a bag of Brussel sprouts or loose Brussel sprouts. You'll want about 2 cups of whole Brussel sprouts.
