Why You'll Love This Recipe
- It's easy to make! When it's cinnamon roll season, this easy recipe is the one to make! There is no long kneading or long waiting!
- You don't have to turn on the oven! That's because it is made entirely in the Instant Pot, so it's perfect on hot days!
- The Instant Pot does the hard work! The Instant Pot will work as a slow cooker and gently help the dough proof, then we will cook the cinnamon rolls right in the Instant Pot under high pressure!
Ingredients You'll Need
- Flour. We are using all purpose flour for this recipe but if you have bread flour that would work too!
- Active dry yeast. To make the cinnamon rolls rise.
- Milk. You can use ½ cup of water, your favorite non dairy milk, 2% or like I did, whole milk.
- Sugar. We will use sugar in both the dough and the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Step By Step Instructions
Tips and Tricks
- The Instant Pot will take 5-8 minutes to come up to pressure before it starts cooking.
- When you open the lid of the Instant Pot there will be water on the aluminum foil. With a paper towel, soak up the warm water before you take the pan out of the Instant Pot.
- Top these homemade cinnamon rolls with as much icing as you would like! The more the better in my opinion!
- If you have a glass lid you can use it when proofing the dough. The dough is not a huge amount, so it does not rise too much in the Instant Pot.
- If you want bigger cinnamon rolls, cut the dough into 5 or 6 pieces instead of eight pieces.
Storage Tips
Store leftovers in an airtight container on the counter. You can also cover the springform pan with plastic wrap and let them hang out on the counter for up to 5 days. They are great room temperature or you can heat them in the toaster oven or the microwave for a minute or two.
Recipe FAQs
Yes! You can use a glass bowl like a Pyrex bowl. As long as it is oven safe and can withstand the pressure of the Instant Pot.
Yes! Once the cinnamon buns are rolls out and placed in the springform pan, feel free to bake them in the oven for 30 minutes instead of the Instant Pot.
It's important to make sure the yeast is not expired. Also make sure that the milk is not too hot. If it is too hot it will kill the yeast. The milk should be just above room temperature, so the chill is taken out.

- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 ½ cups Powdered Sugar

Instructions
- Add the active dry yeast to the warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, add the flour, butter, sugar, salt, and yeast mixture. Mix for 4-5 minutes until a dough forms and the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Spray the inner pot of the Instant pot with cooking spray or oil. Add the dough to the Instant Pot and close the lid. Set the Instant Pot to "yogurt" for 90 minutes.

- While the cinnamon rolls cook, mix the icing ingredients together and set that aside.
