How To Make Peach Kefir Donuts
When the donuts are done, take them out of the pan and place them on a wire rack to cool. While the donuts cool, mix ⅓ cup of powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of Peach Lifeway Oat. Mix until there are no lumps. Dip the donuts in the glaze when they have cooled slightly.
Variations
- Use fresh or canned peaches! If you don't have frozen peaches, use drained canned peaches or one peeled and diced fresh peach.
- Use plain Lifeway Oat! If you don't get your hands on peach, use plain. Add 2 tablespoons of peach juice from canned peaches and you will get the same flavors!
- Change up the toppings! Instead of a glaze or icing, roll these donuts in powdered sugar or cinnamon and sugar for another delicious option!
Tips and Tricks
- Make sure to grease the donut pan well. Use cooking spray, oil, or butter to ensure that the batter does not stick. Even if the tray says that it is non-stick, I still like to spray the pan just to be sure.
- If the donuts do stick to the pan, use a rubber spatula to gently lift the donuts out of the pan. You can also use a butter knife to go around the edges of the donuts and get them out. I don't recommend turning the donut tray upside down, as you might get just donut pieces instead of whole donuts.
- It's best to take the donuts out of the tray as soon as they come out of the oven. If they cool, they are more likely to stick to the pan.
Frequently Asked Questions About Peach Donuts
Everything in moderation, right? They are not as bad for you as their fried counterparts, but you probably shouldn't eat them all day everyday.
If you don't have Lifeway Oat, make sure to get some! Buttermilk can be used instead, or your favorite non-dairy buttermilk version. Kefir can also be used instead of Lifeway Oat.
If you don't have a donut pan, you can use a muffin tin! Make sure to spray the muffin tin well with cooking spray or oil and add the batter to the bottom of the muffin tin. Do not overfill them, still try to get 12 donuts out of this recipe. Bake them as you would in a donut tray.
