Ingredients

  • 4 cups Sourdough Bread Chunked
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  • Cut or tear the sourdough bread and place it on a dry baking sheet.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the bread cubes are dry, but not browned.
  • Remove the bread from the baking sheet and place them in a food processor in batches. I was able to process mine in 3 batches.
  • Turn the food processor on high and process until small crumbs form.
  • Remove the crumbs from the food processor and place them in an airtight container. If you are seasoning the breadcrumbs, add the Italian seasoning and the granulated garlic at this stage.

Notes

  • This method will work for any type of bread.  If you have day old Italian bread, French Bread, ciabatta bread etc., you can use this method.
  • The breadcrumbs can be seasoned as soon as they are processed, or you can leave them plain and season them as you need them for recipes.
