Ingredients

  • ½ cup Bisquick Make sure your Bisquick is fresh and not expired.
  • 1 Large Egg
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, add the Bisquick and ¼ cup of milk.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients. Do not overmix. It's ok if there are a few lumps left in the batter.
  • Add a tab of butter to a pan or spray with nonstick cooking spray. Turn the heat to medium-low heat to medium heat. When the butter melts, add a scoop of batter to the melted butter. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip the pancake over and cook until the second side turns golden brown. Take the pancake off the heat and continue for the rest of the batter.

Notes

  • Do not push down on the pancakes when you flip them. Though it might be tempting to push down on the pancakes, if you want perfect pancakes, just let it hang out and cook in the pan. If you push them down, you won't get that perfect fluffy texture from the pancake.
  • The pancakes are ready to flip when the middle bubbles. Small bubbles will start to come through the batter. The edges of the pancakes will also start to dry out. When you see these two signs, it's time to flip the pancakes.
  • Do not cook the pancakes too high. Medium heat to medium-high heat is the best for cooking pancakes. Too high and the outside will be too cooked and the inside will be raw. Too low and the pancakes will take a long time to cook.
  • Make sure your Bisquick is fresh. Do not use the Bisquick if it is expired or you won't get the rise on the pancakes that you are expecting. The pancakes will come out crumbly and dense.
