- 1 lb Ground Sausage sweet or spicy
- 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Shredded
- 2 cups Bisquick Homemade Bisquick or store bought
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, add the sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and Bisquick. Use your hands to mix everything together. It’ll take a little effort, but the warmth from your hands helps bring the mixture together. If it feels too crumbly, add a tablespoon of milk at a time until it holds together.
Scoop about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart. Pop the tray into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
- The dough may look dry, but don't add any extra liquid unless you really feel you need to. Add a tablespoon or two of milk if the dough is really dry. Remember, the sausage will give off fat and the cheese will soften as it bakes.
- If you like a little heat, go for spicy sausage. For a milder flavor, stick to regular or breakfast sausage.
- This dough does get heavy, so feel free to use a stand mixer to quickly mix the ingredients together.
