How to Steam Shrimp

The Instant Pot is the best place to make perfectly steamed shrimp every time! Fresh or frozen, the Instant Pot is the only place you'll make shrimp from now on!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 lb Shrimp

Instructions

  • Place a steamer basket or silicone steamer basket in your Instant Pot . Add the cold water to the Instant Pot.
  • Clean and devein the shrimp. Place the shrimp in the steamer basket.
  • Close the lid of the Instant Pot, making sure the venting knob is set to the sealing position.
  • Set the cooking time to 1 minute on high pressure.
  • After 1 minute, carefully quick release the pressure. Open the Instant Pot and serve the shrimp or place the shrimp in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

  • The Instant Pot will take 10-12 minutes to come up to pressure.
  • Be very careful when you are releasing the pressure are the steam will be very hot and liquid may come out the top of the lid.
