- 2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 5 tablespoon Butter Melted
- 1 ½ cups Milk
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 large Apple 1 cup shredded
Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
In a large mixing bowl or a liquid measuring cup, mix together the melted butter, milk, and egg until fully combined. Add the sugar and mix again.
In a small bowl, add the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix until fully combined.
With a cheese grater or a food processor, grate the apple. There is no need to peel the apple. You want to have 1 cup of shredded apple.
Pour in the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. It's ok if there are a few lumps left in the batter, you do not want to overmix. Fold in the shredded apples.
Spray the waffle maker with nonstick cooking spray or spread on melted butter. Add the batter to the waffle maker. Cook based on your waffle maker instructions. Serve with maple syrup and butter.
- Use your favorite type of apple. I used Gala but if you have Honeycrisp, Macintosh, or Fuji that would work as well.
- Depending on the size of your waffle maker will depend on how many waffles this batter makes.
- To make these dairy free, use a neutral oil and your favorite non dairy milk.
- Make sure your waffle maker is preheated fully before adding the waffle batter. This will make sure your waffles are nice and crisp.
- If your waffle maker does not have a light that lets your know when the waffles are done, your waffles are done when steam starts coming out of the waffle maker.
