I love cooking and baking real food for my family that is fresh and healthy!

For as long as I can remember, I've been cooking and baking delicious food. The first thing I remember making by myself was a homemade tomato soup with baked croutons in the dead of summer while my mom was working on school scheduling. Was soup the best option to make? Probably not, but my mom told me to make whatever I wanted, so I grabbed my Disney Kids cookbook and found a recipe that we already had all the ingredients for and made dinner for my family. I was 10 years old.

Even before that I would always help my grandmother in the kitchen. She was an excellent cook. Her and my grandfather ate what we now call a "Mediterranean Diet". It was full of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and of course, red wine. My grandfather had a huge garden that would produce vegetables for the entire summer and beyond. He grew the best tomatoes I've ever had. Eggplants, zucchini, all types of peppers, herbs for days, beans, figs, and persimmons just to name a few. I remember going into their garden as a young girl and helping to pick whatever food we were eating for Sunday dinner that day. Though I can't garden quite as well as them, I think I've got some of my grandmother's culinary chops. I hope so anyway!

Now, as a mom of 2, it's important to me that my kids have the best, most delicious food I can make. We try to avoid as much processed foods as we can (though we do enjoy a box of Annie's mac and cheese every once in a while, but who doesn't??). You can find me in my kitchen making homemade bagels for breakfast or homemade pizza for dinner. My kids are often in the kitchen with me stirring some soup, or mixing some brownies, and it's those memories that I hope they will remember when they grow up and are starting their own families.

I hope to share my journey and my recipes with you as I go. I'll share my ups and downs in the kitchen, and hope I can inspire you to make some fresh food for your family too. I won't use any crazy hard to find ingredients, and I will keep my recipes as easy and flavorful as possible!

I'll create my own recipes, but also share some tried and true staples that have been in my family for years.

Please feel free to reach out to me! I would love to hear from you!
